STRATEGIC PARTNERS
Choosing a manufacturer is a big decision. Here is how we answer the questions founders and established brands ask us most often.
Stock formulas start at 250 units per SKU. Custom formulas start at 2,500, and most brands land between 2,500 and 5,000 on a first custom run. Proprietary programs with dedicated chemistry begin at 10,000.
The gap isn't arbitrary. A stock formula is already made, tested, and stable, so we're filling it into your packaging. A custom formula means bench time, raw materials bought at supplier minimums, and stability testing (costs that don't shrink no matter how small the run is). Most founders start on a stock formula, prove the SKU sells, then convert to custom on reorder. That's the cheapest path to a real brand, and we'd rather tell you that up front than sell you a custom program you don't need yet.
Depends on which path you're on, and we put it in writing before any bench work starts, never after.
Stock catalog: the formula stays ours. You own your brand, packaging, and label. You're not locked in, but you also can't take that formula to another lab.
Custom development: you get exclusive rights to the finished formula in your category. We retain our underlying base chemistry and platform technology, because that's what we bring to every project.
Proprietary programs: 100% client-owned, transferable, yours to take anywhere.
If a lab won't tell you which of these you're signing before you pay a development fee, that's your answer about the lab.
We test it before we make it, in-house, with your actual components.
Send us your bottle, jar, pump, or brush (or choose from our stock components) and we run compatibility ahead of production: fill and seal integrity, weight-loss and leak checks, closure and liner performance, and accelerated stability at elevated temperature. For gels, we also confirm the container blocks UV so the product doesn't cure on the shelf.
This is where new brands lose the most money. Gel monomers can craze certain plastics, lift printed decoration, and attack the wrong liner — and a serum that looks fine at week one can separate at week twelve in a warm warehouse. You'll find out at our bench, not from a customer.
Yes. HEMA-free and TPO-free gel systems are available across our UV/LED range, and we'll formulate to EU restrictions when you're selling internationally.
On MoCRA: our facility is FDA-registered and operates under cGMP, and every run carries batch traceability, an SDS, and the documentation you need for product listing and safety substantiation.
One honest note. HEMA-free is a real sensitization improvement, not a marketing checkbox, but it changes adhesion and cure behavior. We reformulate around that rather than pretending the tradeoff doesn't exist, so the product performs on the nail, not just on the ingredient list.
You pay a development fee up front, and we credit it back in full against your first production order.
The fee covers real work: bench formulation, revision rounds, sample kits, and stability and compatibility testing. Trial kits you order to evaluate texture, cure time, and performance are credited the same way.
So if you go to production with us, development effectively costs you nothing. If you decide not to, you've paid for the formulation work and the data — and you're not out a five-figure commitment for a product you weren't sure about.
